I've had mentors and professionals hold my hand as I made the way, own my own. Now I'm letting go. Today I am reflecting on my journey to becoming a counselor in rehabilitation, I am reminded of the power of second chances and the importance of embracing a fresh start. My name is Kelvin Piazza of CAREERGEEK ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT, and I am a Peer Support Specialist with a passion for helping others overcome their struggles and achieve their work-life goals. Come to think of it, I was powerless over my problems, and my life had become unmanageable until I became content with me. I am employable now. And having a nourishing career is the best I can be on Father’s Day.
My Story
My journey in rehabilitation began as a way to heal and recover from my own personal struggles. As someone who has walked the walk I understand the challenges and obstacles that individuals face when trying to overcome addiction, mental health issues, and trauma. My experiences have taught me the value of growth, health, and good condition, and I am committed to using my experience, strength, and hope to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
The Power of Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is not just about treating a specific issue or problem; it's about helping individuals regrow their lives and nourish developmentfor long-term success. As a counselor, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of rehabilitation, and I am constantly inspired by the resilience and determination of the individuals I work with - come to think of it - including working with myself.
My Approach
My approach to counseling is centered around the principles of empathy, empowerment, and education. I believe that every individual has the capacity to change and (re)grow, and that with the right support and guidance, they can overcome even the most daunting challenges. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel comfortable sharing their struggles and working towards their goals.
The Importance of Peer Support
As a Peer Support Specialist, I understand the importance of peer support in the recovery process. I believe that individuals who have walked a similar path can offer a unique perspective and level of understanding that is essential to the healing process. My own experiences have taught me the value of having a supportive community, and I am committed to providing that same level of support to those I work with.
My Services
As a counselor in rehabilitation, I offer a range of services designed to support individuals in their journey towards recovery and wellness. These include:
* Peer Support chat sessions
* Group chats
* Family chats
* Education and workshops
* Support chats
My Philosophy
My philosophy is simple: every individual deserves a fresh start, and it's never too late to regrow from the roots. I believe that with the right support, guidance, and resources, anyone can overcome their struggles and achieve more work life joy. My goal is to empower individuals to get their bag through personal and professional development.
